Let’s Kill Hipster is Karen and The Babe’s brand new single for their upcoming album Plaid is Out? I’ll wear it!, which will be hitting stores this November 5th.
The song is mostly compressed of what sounds like bagpipes and the squeals of scared badgers, but no one knows for sure what instruments the band actually uses because we are all not hipster enough to uphold this knowledge.
I was, however, lucky enough to be able to sit down with one of the Babes Matt Smith and the lead singer Karen Gillan and ask them a few questions.
“What would you call your style of music?”
Matt: “I would uhm, definitely call it unique. It’s something that not a lot of people will get.” Karen: “And it has a lot of obscure references.” Matt: “Yeah, that too. It’s cool.”
“Why do you want to kill Hipster?”
Matt: “No, no, we aren’t trying to get to kill Hipster, man.” [looks at Karen] “He’s obviously not getting the references? ‘Tis a shame.” Karen: “We are trying to bring Hipster back you know. I think it’s about time.”
